A couple of months ago, I used one of Stacie’s wedding images for an instagram post. Stacie and Jordan’s wedding last October was rare, in the sense that they decided on a church wedding. Here, in the NNK that may not seem rare. The further you move away from here, however, it’s not often that people want a church wedding anymore. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having an estate, vineyard, country club, or waterfront wedding. They’re gorgeous. But there is something so nostalgic, so sentimental, so classic about a church wedding. Especially in Stacie and Jordan’s case. Their wedding was at the church where Jordan’s grandfather was pastor. How amazingly special for both them and their families!
Stacie hired me early in her wedding planning process. She was so considerate of me through the whole process! She would message me randomly throughout the year and ask if something she was planning would work for me. Through conversations with her and following along on social media, I could feel the anticipation of her wedding building. I know it does with all my brides, but there was a closeness with Stacie that made it feel closer to me.
I feel that I also need to give a shout out to Stacie’s mother in this post. She was with Stacie through every step that I was involved in (and I’m sure in every other one, too). She was this quiet force; encouraging when she needed to be, decisive when she needed to be, constantly behind the scenes making sure every aspect of her daughter’s day was exactly what she wanted. I watched her often… quietly stepping in to hold Stacie’s hand while she was getting ready to help calm her, when she had her dance with her father and tears fell down her cheeks from pride and love. I admire this woman.
Can we talk a minute about the sky? 2018 was a super wet year, but Stacie and Jordan lucked out in a major way with the weather on their day! A little drizzly in the morning but it made way for the most gorgeous cotton candy sky that evening. It couldn’t have been more beautiful!
Stacie and Jordan, I can’t thank you enough for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day! It really and truly felt like an honor to be there and I am so happy that you both are so close that I can have a front seat to watch you both have your happily ever after!
XOXO
