I get to meet a lot of people with my job. It’s such an adventure getting to know so many people and learning their family dynamics so quickly. During my correspondence with Lesley, I knew right away that I was talking to one of the sweetest souls I’ve ever met. When I met her in person she exceeded the picture I had painted in my mind. This kind, gentle, loving soul.
Lesley and Mitchell have struggled with infertility. They’ve loved and lost and FINALLY they have their answer to prayer. This little life. Lesley was radiant. She is a beautiful woman anyway, but carrying this life, fulfilling a life long dream to be a mother… it filled my heart just to see her joy. I think that is what touched me the most. It seems like such a small thing… getting pregnant and having a baby… but for so many women it is the struggle of their lives. Even when they finally conceive they are robbed of purely joyful experience. Once you’ve lost a baby, that fear is always there. I lost a little boy at 19 weeks and many of you know my story, so when I see women and mothers who have similar stories I connect with them.
Above everything, Mitchell and Lesley were just joyful, loving people. We laughed and talked and they shared with me their journey from high school sweethearts to where they are now. Our session was in the same place they got married and it was only fitting for these two to capture the happiest part of their marriage so far, exactly where their marriage started.
And a side note… Doesn’t Lesley look like a red headed Emma Watson? She is just so beautiful!!! And I KNOW Mitchell agrees!
