This past Friday, I had the honor of working with one of the sweetest couples I’ve had. I met with them and their parents last year and honestly, I thought Noelle’s mother was the bride! She was the first person I saw and was so beautiful, that I just thought for sure it was her! Obviously, I was wrong! lol… But Noelle was just as gorgeous and the kindest young lady.

Joshua and Noelle are from Maryland but they come down to the Neck to their family’s summer home for a long time and knew that it was where they wanted to get married. They chose Bushfield in Montross. I’ve lived here my whole life and have never heard of it! It was George Washington’s brother’s home.  His name was John Augustine Washington.  History books record that George visited there often and it was so crazy thinking that multiple times that day I was standing where he once did.   I love that even after 32 years I discover places like this essentially in my back yard.

Joshua and Noelle got married a day after their 7 year anniverary of dating. They journeyed through high school and college together and watching them together is so inpirational. They are so young but have already been through 1/3 of their lives together.

The day started beautifully – and then – down pour. Right when the ceremony was supposed to start. They took it in stride and delayed the ceremony for about a half an hour and then said their vows in front of the most gorgeous sunset. The sun was setting in one direction, and a rainbow was over head in the other. It was perfect.

Thank you Joshua and Noelle for letting me a part of your day! I couldn’t have been more perfect for you both!
XOXO
