The last three months of 2016 are a blur. It was my busiest fall season to date and while I was sometimes overwhelmed I was also full of gratitude. My faithful clients showed up and I was honored to welcome new families and couples to my business. I’ve been taking the time during my slow season to sort and organize my work from 2016. Due to my internet issues, I was not able to blog as much as I wanted to and several sessions from October, November, and December were never shown. Time to remedy that!
This sweet woman below is someone I have known since she was a little girl. Our mother’s taught together at Lancaster Elementary School and I have memories of Longerburger Basket parties (who else remember those?) and Lively Day festivals.
When I saw she had gotten engaged I so hoped she would contact me! I was OVERJOYED when I saw that email hit my inbox! This girl… she’s full of class, grace, and kindness. Everything I could hope for in a bride. Brittany and Jay’s engagement session was so much fun! I had a sitter hiccup and Wren had to come with me and I was SO grateful that they were okay with my little assistant being in tow. Wren fell in love with Brittany right away. She kept telling her how beautiful she was and that she looked like a princess. Wren has a good eye, huh? Brittany is a natural in front of a camera and Jay was such a good sport with all of my ideas and suggestions. He was in it – and he was in it for Brittany. I can see a lot during these sessions and my grooms never disappoint in their capacity to step up and rock these two hours loving on their brides. We laughed and giggled because the reality of these sessions is there are lots of moments of awkwardness and insecurity. Pulling couples out of their comfort zones to capture authentic moments is something I LOVE doing.
The grounds at Westover Plantation were stunning. The sun was setting over the water and historic grounds were still lush and vibrant even with winter already starting. It was the perfect backdrop.
Brittany and Jay, I CAN NOT WAIT for your big day this fall! It’s going to be absolutely amazing!
XOXO
There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about my clients. Past, present, and future. I strive for a relationship that extends further than their wedding day. The industry is constantly changing and I strive to keep up with new standards while holding true to my style.
