It’s weddings like this that make me love what I do. It’s not the venue, scenery, decor, or details – while they were all incredibly gorgeous… It’s the spirits of the couple, their bridal party, their family and friends that make weddings truly memorable and special.
Kendall and Rob live out of state and came into Kyndall’s home town of VB for a gathering. They drove an additional two hours, in the rain, to meet me at Christ Church for their engagement session. The rain was a major bummer but we couldn’t reschedule so their laid back attitudes and adventurous spirits made it worth while. They didn’t have sun flares or golden tones, but their genuine smiles and love for each other along with their excitement lit up the session. I was so happy when the forecast for their wedding day was a hot, sunshine filled summer day. When I arrived Kyndall’s house was buzzing with the girls sipping champagne and getting the final touches of hair and makeup. Her mom and dad were busy making sure everyone had everything they needed including making the HOMA girls a “to go” plate of food. I notice things like that, because it’s special. I saw where Kyndall got her big heart. My second shooter spent this same time with the guys. Even though I had only met Rob the one time I knew he was a character! The entire engagement session he was joking and it kept Kyndall and I both laughing the whole time. So it was no surprise to me when my second, Kayla, told me how much fun she had with them. After reviewing the shots she got, I could see why! If Rob was nervous, you couldn’t tell. Kayla, too, was calm…. excited, but calm. Always ready to lend an attentive hear to last minute questions. One of her bridesmaids is an event planner and she kept us on pace and on time. I was so grateful for her!
Rob and Kyndall exchanged their vows in a gorgeous open air room with all the light I could have dreamed of. Family and friends watched Rob and Kyndall both shed tears when they saw each other for the first time. Tree’s let the light speckle over guests as the two said “I Do”. Later the room was cleared and set up to accommodate the reception while the we took the bridal outside for their portraits and the guests enjoyed cocktail hour. The whole time I was shooting their formals I was thinking how lucky I was. Lucky to call this my job and to get clients -now friends- like Rob and Kyndall. Big hearts, a genuine love for one another, grace in each other’s arms, and an opportunity to give them the gift of memory on day that goes by so so fast.
Thank you Kyndall and Rob, for such an awesome day. You filled my heart with such a special gift!!
XOXO
There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about my clients. Past, present, and future. I strive for a relationship that extends further than their wedding day. The industry is constantly changing and I strive to keep up with new standards while holding true to my style.
