November may not seem to be prime wedding season, but over the past few years I have seen warmer weather linger longer and longer through the fall. Every year I see more and more brides opt for November wedding dates, confident that it won’t be overly cold and still able to embrace those gorgeous fall colors into their wedding theme.
Taylor and Hagan’s wedding was the first November wedding of the season last year and it couldn’t have been a more gorgeous day. A little breezy, a little chilly, but loads of sunshine.
I honestly think my favorite part of the day was the getting ready moments with Taylor and her mom. I was cracking up between the two of them and their banter. Taylor was so excited and her mom was just this precious ball of sass and sarcasm, which I relate to so well. You could tell those shared a special bond. My instincts were confirmed when Taylor surprised her mom with a special dance for the two of them during her reception.
I won’t lie, Hagan’s groomsmen kept me on my toes and kept things interesting. I love watching the groom with his guys. Most of the time these guys are lifelong friends so there are decades of history and jokes all being remembered a re-lived for them during this day. It can be frustrating at times because as the photographer, the timeline is forefront in my mind… but I also have to remember to take a step and remember that this is THEIR day… they want to have these moments, and taking a step back and letting them have it just as important as the photographs they’ll have to remember it all.
Taylor and Hagan, I could’t have been more honored to be a part of your amazing day! It has been such a joy to go back and experience your day again through this blog!
XOXO
