Things have been quiet over my way lately! I find myself trying to handle a delicate balance of working from home and being the normal stay at home mom. It’s tough. I don’t know why – I mean thinking about it, it should be cake! There are a lot of women I know that go to work full time and then come home and do the normal house work. Bottom line, my work flow is still a work in progress. All the suggestions and advice from other pro’s don’t seem to work for me. Knowing myself, it is probably a lack of discipline which is something ONLY I can fix. So I’m working on it. I’m still here, even though I’m quiet – and more importantly I’m busy – which is everything I hoped I’d be when I started this adventure!
So on with the post! Last fall an amazing photographer I follow, Amanda Hedgepeth, was asked to speak at new conference being held in Raleigh, NC. She was given a free ticket to give away to one of her followers. I saw it – I entered – I won!! I never win! This was a HUGE prize! Two days in Raleigh, day 1 full of amazing speakers in the industry and day 2 an epic styled shoot with great models and an AMAZING set up inspired by French Vintage elements. It was gorgeous. I couldn’t have been more thankful to be a part of it all.
There were so many elements to this shoot! All the elements were there and we got the opportunity to style them ourselves. It was a great learning experience. I got to spend the day with about 20 other amazing women who are kind, creative, and inspiring. I got watch and learn and share. The way I work works for me but that doesn’t mean I am closed off to learning new things, easier – more effecient ways to do things. Watching these other women work motivated me to step up my game and push a little harder – and THAT is what it is all about!
Thank you to all the people who worked SO hard to pull this conference together. Thank you for the opportunity to WIN a seat.
