This Wedding. This Wedding was everything, every reason I wanted to be a local Wedding Photographer. I’ve known Samantha forever. As I have said before, she is the reason I have a business. With my semi pro camera and no real clue of what I was doing, she allowed me the chance to photograph her and her precious daughter. From there it only went up. I’ve known Thomas since high school. The best man is someone else I went to school with and the Maid of Honor has been my best friend since pre-school. I can’t count on two hands how many guests that were there that are also clients of mine. I was home. I cried during so many moments of this day. When Sam put her dress on, when her mom zipped up the back, when her little girls walked down the isle, when she walked down the isle, when she shared a dance with her mother and when I saw her daughter tear up, too, knowing what special moment it was. I wasn’t just watching clients get married, I was watching a dear friend get married. I was watching so many people I hold dear to my heart share in the moment, too. It was overwhelming. I was beyond thankful. Thankful for everything and this amazing season in my life and theirs.
I loved watching my best friend be there for her little sister. I loved watching Samantha become a wife to an amazing man that she deserves so so much. I loved watching her welcome two more little girls into her heart as daughters and hearing her own little girl call Thomas “daddy”. There isn’t anyone who is more deserving of such happiness.
I was able to celebrate with them not just as a photographer but as a guest.
Don’t get me wrong, I love developing relationships with new clients. I share moments with them that tie us together forever, but it goes so much deeper with clients that I have shared my own life with, that I have history with, memories with. It all come flooding back to me and I play it all in mind as I watch their day come to life.
Samantha and Thomas, I can’t express the range of emotions and hopes I have for you in the future. I can’t wait to watch it unfold and grow. I love you both dearly.
XOXO
