Is it to late to say HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I hope not, cause I am still soaking in the turn of the decade and THIS wedding was the PERFECT one to kick 2020 off!
I met Hannah a few years ago when I photographed her sister, Laura’s Wedding. Since then, she has been employed at my kids’ school and I have seen her on and off since. I was beyond excited when she booked me for her own wedding. Getting to know her, I discovered Hannah and I are kindred spirits. We have so many personality traits in common and I just “got” her. Her witty sarcasm had me laughing through our sessions together. I had never had to guess where she stood on an idea, but she let me take the lead and trusted me. This couldn’t have been more true than the day of her wedding. A dreary January day, stuck right in the middle of the two most gorgeous winter days we have seen so far this season. I couldn’t believe it. The weather people are NEVER right. This was the ONE time in a million where the forecast never changed from 10 days out. Rain. Maybe snow, but definitely rain. Luckily, it held off long enough for us to get portraits done. The minute we were done, and I am not exaggerating, the MINUTE we were done, it started raining. Embracing what mother nature gives you is just par for the course in this gig, so we hopped outside for some fun umbrella shots and made for some fun sparker/rain shots during their exit.
Truth be told, I am THRILLED at how Hannah and Jacob’s pictures turned out! She wanted a winter wedding for a reason. Sure the sun wasn’t out – but if it had been, their pictures would have looked more like spring and I believe she got the exact look she was going for! WINTER in Virginia!
I am so so happy that our relationship doesn’t end now that her wedding has. I get to see her often… and I can’t wait for the next thing she says to make me belly laugh like an idiot! (It’s one of my favorite things 😉 )
Thank you Hannah and Jacob for choosing me to be a part of your amazing day! XOXO
There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about my clients. Past, present, and future. I strive for a relationship that extends further than their wedding day. The industry is constantly changing and I strive to keep up with new standards while holding true to my style.
