I have so much love and respect for this couple! Long distance kept us from meeting before their big day but through Facebook I got to follow their lives and adventures. When they planned their wedding they imagined a beautiful mountain top wedding at the Wisp Resort in Fall. Reality, however, had other plans. One word: Joaquin. This Hurricane wreaked havoc all up and down the east coast. Being 300+ miles inland didn’t matter. Gusting winds and heavy rain threatened their day. That didn’t stop them though! I loved their adventurous spirits and determination to have thier wedding, as they intended it. Everyone involved were great sports and drove to that mountain top to watch their loved ones tie the knot. At the end of the day, hearing everyone talk about these two, it was no surprise that their wedding was an adventure and it is something they can look back on remember with full hearts.
Many of the normal portraits I would have done outside were moved inside. The rain broke long enough for to get outside and get some gorgeous shots of the couple and bridal party. It was windy and cold but worth it.
The entire bridal party wore yellow Chuck Taylors. A tribute to the bride who has worn them her whole life. I love when couple personalize their day like this! You won’t find too many weddings with foot wear like this!
No matter what the weather was like, at the end of the day all that mattered was that these two had an epic celebration of the start of their lives together. It’s not too often you can say you got married on a mountain top in a Hurricane – yet that is exactly what these adventurous souls get to do! I don’t think they woud have it any other way!
