We came to San Diego from all over… Me from VA, my bestie from AR, and one of my dearest college friends from Fresno. It was so exciting. I got married and had my children young. I was 19 and 20. At those ages i had lived in VA, OH, and SD. At that stage in my life traveling consisted of trips to and from VA visitng my family. It may seem sad, especially to a lot of my photog friends who are so much younger than me, but this was my first solo adult trip that was JUST for fun!
My trip to California was over 2 months ago and i am just now getting to share them with you! I have put it off and put it off…. I am kinda glad that i did… Looking at my facebook feed and seeing all these pictures of snow and feeling ridiculous temps. outside i am MAJORLY sick for some California palm trees, sunshine, and warmth.
Even though i took my camera with me on this trip, i made a decision that i was not going to let it control my vacation. So these pictures aren’t great… haha… they aren’t awe inspiring or impactful. Just me being silly with two dear freinds who i hadn’t seen in FAR too long.
This was my first trip to the West Coast. I was like a kid. I feel in love. Maybe it’s becuase this was one of my frist adult trips with no kids, maybe it was because i was with college friends but my heart was so happy. We didn’t do any touristy things, just shopped, ate, and went to as many beaches as possible.
I also turned the big 3-0. EEEEKK that is so hard saying! I don’t feel this age. I see young 20 somethings and have to remind myself that i am not their age. Music i listened to as a kid and teenager are starting to be played on the “classic” stations. I’m a mother to a “tween”. Some of the best years of my life were spent with these two ladies. It took me back. The time diference didn’t help me forget my age either! I had to nap everyday at 4 in order to make it past 9 that evening! HAHA… So sad.
Well anyway… I hope these pictures will warm you up a bit!

Did i mention i got a tattoo while i was there? I think it was actually the first thing i did 🙂
