Once September hits, every year, my schedule goes into hyper drive. Last year, between family sessions, weddings, an at home school routine for my kids, and a virtually non existent internet connection, blogging essentially ended. I don’t know if any one noticed or cared since everyone was dealing with this new chaos that is virtual learning in an area with extremely limited high speed internet. We were an are in the same boat there. I’ve hit my slow season and can catch up on things that had to be set aside, which takes us back to October when Karson and Brandon exchanged their vows overlooking the York River in Gloucester.
As for most couples in 2020, their plans drastically changed. They had a wedding venue reserved, and plans set. The late summer spike in Covid numbers left them scrambling for a new location as their venue could no longer accommodate their plans – even on a drastically scaled back. Thankfully they had some pretty awesome family members and friends that stepped up and allowed them to use their personal properties to host the whole day. Safety measure in place with being outside, socially distanced, masked, and sanitization stations in place, they had the most beautiful backyard wedding over looking the York River in Gloucester. People pay big bucks for the kind of views these two had. It couldn’t have been a more gorgeous day, either. Temps in the 80’s and the sun shining.
This day lifted the spirits of so many who had spent the majority of the year isolated. It was so good to see so many smiles and so much laughter and joy.
3 months later looking back on this day gives me hope for 2021. Things are still up in air and could change, but with the vaccine and couples making back up plans now, hopefully we will see things creeping back to normal.
Thank you Karson and Brandon for all the memories. For allowing me to be there to witness all the love and joy from your day.
Cheers to 2021!!
XOXO
