One of the things I love most about weddings is how personal they are. All the ideas all the planning is personal to the bride and groom. Sometimes, they are surprises to me as I don’t know the couple that well… This one, however, was completely on point to what I have known of the bride. I’ve known Charlotte since we were children. Our mother’s were both teachers and we were both “Lively grown”. Being from the upper end of the county kind of separates you from most of the kids that grow up in Kilmarnock and White Stone… We had our own fire department that had its’ own events and it made us a bit more “country”… Charlotte and I also played softball together on the same team… She was fierce… the best second base player there was… She was tiny but she was one of the girls who got the “move back” motions from the other team when she was up to bat. They are some of my most favorite memories of childhood.
I didn’t know her fiancé at all… but I learned all I needed to of him when I watched him – watch her walking down the isle…. I’m tearing up thinking about it. His eyes never moved from her once. It was a look of complete devotion, admiration, and love. It was poweful. And when I say they didn’t move from her… I don’t even think he blinked. THAT is what every woman dreams of. Shew!! He loves himself some Charlotte! LOL!
Laid back, happy, full of laughter, family and togetherness… That was what these two wanted from their day – and that is exactly what they got! On their family farm overlooking the pond on a beautiful warm late spring day!
