Oh this wedding! I’m blogging about it a little sooner than I usually would, for two reasons. #1, this is actually something I want to start doing consistently… I think I’ll call it Wedding Wednesday J. #2, Melissa leaves today for her deployment overseas. I wanted her to have these images so it makes her leaving a little easier to bear.
This wedding challenged me. It was my moment to “woman up” and take it all head on. I have been so lucky over the past two years of shooting weddings in that it has never rained right before, during, and after the ceremony. The threat has loomed, it has rained before and way after, but never during. It poured ALL DAY. We were at a Stratford Hall and they wouldn’t let us in the majority of the buildings. There were no over hangs or porches large enough to hold their bridal party… We were thinking fast. In an odd turn of events, a good photographer friend of mine, Michael, was with me. He was second shooting and assisting. He suggested the reception site to get some of the bridal party pictures and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The images are a different look from what I normally produce but it is high end, fancy, and rich feeling. I LOVE IT. We made it work… or should I say HE made it work. If it had not been for him with me that day I really don’t know what I would have done. So THANK YOU MICHAEL for all of you hard work, suggestions, and help! You made this day go above and beyond what I could have hoped for! You taught me so much and I was thankful to be able to take this opportunity to learn from you!
Jeffery and Melissa were amazing during all of this! They trusted us and they went along with our suggestions… They stayed CALM and determined that they were going to enjoy their day no matter what! It made all the difference in the world! Melissa was classic and elegant… She was stunning. Everyone involved was just so much fun! I mean this group of women sported formal gowns and rain boots like bosses!
Thank you, Melissa, for your service to this country! Thank you, Jeffery, for supporting her and doing such an amazing job planning this wedding! You guys are some of my new favorite people and I am so thankful I had the opportunity to work with you! Melissa stay safe and I will see you when you get home!!! XOXO
