My hubby and i got a mini get-away this past weekend in Washington DC. It was a small over night trip… but it was the first trip away from our youngest and it was nice to have the time. I had a session with a couple of my favorite people! They are fellow photographers and they wanted an urban feel as something different… It was great! I can’t wait to share! There is WAYYY too much to do in DC to pack into a day. On top of the fact as soon as we wrapped the skies opened up and walking anywhere was out of the question. My husband is from South Dakota and this was his first trip to our Nation’s Capitol. I want to go back so he can see more… We got visit the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam Wall, and see the Washington Monument (even thought it was under construction). It’s probably going to be hard to get him back up there… aside from too many people (which is funny cause it was a Sunday and poor weather so it was EMPTY) the traffic on the way home was a NIGHTMARE! I 95 is known for it’s horrible traffic jams and i thought it being a Sunday and leaving town we would be okay… boy was i wrong! LOL Anyway, DC is amazing. It is inspiring, empowering, emotional, prideful, and a testament to what men can do when they work together. It should be on the list for ALL Americans to visit… I cant’ wait to go back!!

You can see the scaffolding… The earthquake VA had a couple of years ago damaged the monument…

The Vietnam Wall. Just one of the MANY places in DC that stir great emotion, loss, sorrow, and pride. So many gave so much.
