Allie and Justin’s Belle Grove Plantation wedding last November was gorgeous. A storm loomed all day but thankfully they held off until the reception. Allie and Justin were able to say their vows overlooking the water at the beautiful Belle Grove Plantation. I loved all of Allie’s personal touches to the day. As avid outdoors people, Allie wore gold threaded sneakers under gown and brought in some ring pops to add a little humor to her details shots. Rustic woods and fall foliage was spread all over their ceremony and reception area. Bright yellow sunflowers and deep red roses… It was beautiful. Allie even used her parent’s french bull dog as their ring bearer. He was so excited and so stinking adorable. He knew he was the center of attention and ate it up!
By the time we were doing couples portraits it began sprinkling. We pulled out the umbrella and embraced the rain. It got a little chilly during the reception so Allie put on one of her grandfather’s flannel shirts. He recently passed and she had it there that day to keep his presence close. It was a touching tribute.
I had such a great time getting to know Allie and Justin. They are such down to earth people and so laid back! They really took the time to enjoy their wedding day. They paused and took a breath when they needed to and in doing so, they were really able to experience the happiest day of their lives!
