Welcome to Ashley Peterson Photography! I am very excited to say that this is my very FIRST post on my BRAND NEW photography blog! This was a huge step for me. The whole process of creating and setting up this blog has proven to be both empowering and taxing!
I feel that it is only fitting that my first blog post be about my very first clients, Samantha and Emma Brown. I called Samantha and asked if she would let me take pictures of Emma. I knew that if I was going to get anywhere with my photography that I needed to expand my subject matter to more than just my own kids. When i photographed Emma I was very nervous and took hundreds of pictures. I can’t remember for sure but I think I had edited around 160 + pictures and gave them to Sam. I didn’t expect anything to come out of it. I had gotten some good practice, some great shots, and most importantly, a little experience. The next day I got a call from another local friend asking me to take pictures of her family and it was all down hill from there. Samantha has been one of my most faithful clients, setting up an appointment with me almost every time I make a trip to VA. I have gotten to watch Emma grow up over the past couple of years, and what a sweet, wonderful little girl she is!
Thank you Samantha for being my “guinea pig” and being a HUGE factor in the start of a career that I absolutely LOVE. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
Shots from our first session. Thanks to the Hope & Glory Inn in Irvington, VA for allowing us access to your grounds for this shoot!
I had lots of fun with her later that year when we did her Christmas pictures. Thank you Holiday Inn in Kilmarnock, VA for allowing us to use your beautiful Christmas tree as a background!
You can find more pictures from Emma’s sessions under the “Portfolio” tab in the Children section.
There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about my clients. Past, present, and future. I strive for a relationship that extends further than their wedding day. The industry is constantly changing and I strive to keep up with new standards while holding true to my style.
