My hands have been on the keyboard for a while, trying to find a place to start this blog.  It isn’t for a lack of things to say.  There is so much, so many places I could start that I’m struggling to find the right way to start.  To do justice to this amazing couple.  All of my couples hold a place in my heart.  This job isn’t just taking pictures.  The business side is hard and I struggle sometimes finding my place in the ever growing world of photographers.  I could photograph more weddings and even charge more if I went to a market North or South of here.  Only serving higher populated areas would rob me of moments like these.  Moments where the story is persoanl.  Where I’ve witnessed their togetherness, spent time with their loved ones heard stories of how it all started and their admiration of how they love each other.  Their friends are my firends and for the past three years I’ve learned so much about them.  I’ve fallen in love with their love.  My small town love drives my craft.  The love stories of the NNK.  My heart is here.  I love my couples from other places.  I think my laid back personality draws them to me… away from the hustle and bustle.  They are extremely important to me.  But my local couples keep me grounded and I am so thankful for them.

So.  Ame and Brendan kicked off the 2017 wedding season and it was nothing short of perfection.  You’ll notice this blog is a little different from others.  Ame and Brendan wanted to focus on the people rather than the details.  Catholic Masses create a different timeline and their wants fit perfectly for the flow of the day.  I remember photographing Kara & Nate’s wedding a couple of years ago, and my friend Julie pointing Ame and Brendan out and saying… “Look at them… He LOVES himself some Ame”.  She was sitting on his lap laughing and enjoying the reception and he was staring at her with the biggest smile on his face.  I will never forget that.  It was in the forefront of my mind while they were exchanging vows, having their first dance, and during their bride and groom pictures.  I was so, so thankful.

I couldn’t have witnessed a better day.  Thank you, Ame and Brendan for allowing me to be there.  Your future is bright and full of LOVE!

XOXO
