As a Wedding Photographer I always get butterflies when a new inquiry rolls in. The initial moment of contact is always filled with so much excitement and anticipation. I didn’t know Laura when she reached out to me. I didn’t meet her until her and Jesse’s engagment session almost a year before their wedding. I fell in love with them right away. Laura’s gorgeous and infectious smile coupled with Jesse’s laid back country boy manerisms… They were a match made in Heaven. I had never been so thankful for that inquiry.
Laura has a daughter. A blue eyed, blonde haired doll baby that just lights up any room she walks into. She’s spunky and full of sass – everything a little girl should be! She joined us the day of Laura and Jesse’s engagement session and if I didn’t think so before, I was convinced in those moments with them that sometimes families are made by choice and that choice of love is just as powerful as any connection with DNA. This family, where two became three, brought tears to my eyes. My heart was full… and if an outsider can have a heart so full, I know Laura’s was bursting.
To say this day was beautiful would be the biggest understatement of the world. I am blessed to have this occupation. Every time I pick up my camera I get to witness love, joy, and the differences that make us all unique and special. It is the most fulfilling thing in the world. BUT THIS DAY… it made me feel like all my dreams had come true.
Of course the details were amazing… it was the perfect outdoor rustic backyard wedding. It was stunning.  It felt like home. But more than that, was the joy, pride, and love that reflected on everyone’s face who was there. That is how I know the heart of the couple.
I need to stop… SHEW! I could go on and on! But seriously, Laura and Jesse… It was an HONOR to be your Wedding Photographer. I am so thankful that you both chose me and welcomed me with open arms. I am so thankful that I will always have your day to reflect on and remember when things in my little world get hard or discouraging. You’ve inspired me and renewed my love and passion for what I do!
