Today is Friday Sept. 13. All most people will see about this day is that it is Friday the 13th. To me, however, it is more. Today is my wedding anniversary. My TEN YEAR wedding anniversary. That is no easier typing than it is saying. I can not believe it has been that long! 10 years ago today i was 19 and my finace (of only a couple of months… well we had only even been dating just shy of 5 months) was 24. We were alone in Jamaica scared out of our minds… wondering if we were making the right decision. 10 years is something to be proud of these days. 10 years together has given us 4 beautiful children, more moves in 4 states than i care to count, multiple heartaches, and more love and laughter than i could ever measure. With him being in ministry for most of life together we joked that our time together measured more like 20 years since we speant 24/7 with each other instead of being a part during 8 hour work days like most couples. That time together bonded us. One can’t stand with out the other. He is my very best friend. It has by no means been easy. Our marriage has been tested and i do mean TESTED. Our hearts have been broken by the people we loved the most and even by each other. We are marriage survivors. This man, this goofy, kid at heart, giving, loving man has loved me through my worst. He tells me i am beautiful EVERYDAY. He tells me he loves me EVERYDAY. He gives me the best bites of food, fills my car up with gas, brings home flowers, wears his hair and clothes how I like, goes back to the grocery store when i forget things, takes me shopping even though he DISPISES it, goes and gets me breakfast in the morning, and helps me fold laundry (sometimes). He’s a provider for his family and a WONDERFUL father. Our children adore him. To sum it all up… a quote from Juno…” Look, in my opinion, the best thing you can do is find a person who loves you for exactly what you are. Good mood, bad mood, ugly, pretty, handsome, what have you, the right person is still going to think the sun shines out your a**. That’s the kind of person that’s worth sticking with.” So thankful i found that person; The person that compliments me completely. 10 years down… a lifetime to go!!
On another note… i am not one for being in front of the camera. I decided to do these pictures last minute and didn’t have anyone on standby to take them… So, the credit of taking these photos goes to Logan, my 9 year old son… He did AMAZING! We did a crash course in focus and composition and he soared! I think i found my assistant! SO PROUD OF HIM…
